Instructions to season wok: 
  1. Wash: Scrub the wok with hot, soapy water to remove factory coating. Rinse and dry thoroughly.
  2. Heat: Place the wok on the stove over medium-high heat until it starts to smoke.
  3. Oil: Add a thin layer of high smoke point oil and spread it with a paper towel.
  4. Heat Again: Continue heating until the oil starts to smoke and the wok darkens. Move the wok around to coat evenly.
  5. Cool: Let the wok cool, then wipe off any excess oil.

Repeat the oil and heat steps a few times to build up the seasoning.
